The government of Belarus has finally approved the list of goods to be produced for import substitution, and for deliveries of which to the market ministries and agencies are to be responsible, Interfax-Zapad reports.

According to the list, Minsk city executive committee is to become responsible for beauty and hygiene of Belarusians. This state body is given a task to provide the population with sanitary towels, deodorants, make-up, soap, hair-care products, scented salts and perfumes to the population.

Besides., this year citizens of Belarus will be able to try ‘home-made chocolate precuts in the form of an egg”. The state-owned food concern Belgospischeprom is responsible for that. Besides, the state body is ordered to satisfy the Belarusians’ demand in “hard candies”, “chocolate drops, marmalade with fruit taste’ and “sweets with complex filling”.

This year the government will delight Belarusian children with homemade diapers (Mahilyou region executive committee is responsible for that), “development games (puzzles)” (the Information Ministry), “table games”, “boxes for toys.” Special focus is made on “toy baby carriages”. 5000 items are planned to be produced this year, while 250 000 items of prams are to be produced this year.

In 2012 Bellesbumprom concern is to supply “wallpaper and analogous paper covering with plastic to the home market,” “office paper”, as well as “sanitary items.”

Bellegprom concern (engaged in consumer goods manufacturing) is responsible for import substitution of woolen, silk, cotton cloths. This agency is to cloth Belarusians in “textile dresses for grown-ups and children”, “natural skin clothes”, “natural fur clothes with modern trimming for women, men and children” and “natural fur hats”.

Traditionally, the Industry Ministry is to provide washing machines, refrigerators, DVD players, LCD TV sets, electric kettles, vacuum cleaners, aero grills, breadmakers, irons, collapsible umbrellas, and rakes.

It is noted in the document that “consumer properties of goods should guarantee their competitive power, meet the best world standards and comply with the proposals of the Ministry of Trade.”
