3 million fine for a Kalinouski memorial action

A youth activist Vital Lapasau was found guilty in participating in an unauthorized action and using unregistered symbolics.

By the decision of the Svislach court it is decided to confiscate the white-red-white flag from him. Police detained Lapasau on Saturday after a memorial action devoted to the rebels of Kastus Kalinouski.

Lapasau did not acknowledge his guilt and is going to seek to get the flag back, Radio Svaboda reports.

We would remind, that on 27 October near Svislach a traditional memorial action took place to commemorate Viktar and Kastus Kalinouski brothers. Over thirty people participated in that. Policemen detained four people – Ales Krot, Stanislava Gusakova, Vitold Ashurak and Vital Lopasau. The last one was released (he had an underage son with him) whereas the rest of the detained spent the weekend at the local police department. Protocols were composed against them for participating in an unauthorized mass event and using unregistered symbolics.

The trial of Ales Krot and Vitold Ashurak is scheduled for 30 October.

Earlier Stanislava Gusakova was sentenced for three days in prison. She was found guilty of participating in an unauthorized mass event and using unregistered symbolics. By the decision of the court it is decided to confiscate the white-red-white flag from her.
