Zmitser Dashkevich again thrown into punishment cell for 10 days

A political prisoner met with his lawyer today.

Euroradio has learned this information from political prisoner's fiancee Anastasia Palazhanka.

According to Palazhanka, Dashevich has been thrown into a punishment cell for 10 days – the maximum term possible. The meeting was held under tight control of prison guards, so Dashkevich was unable to discuss some legal issues with his lawyer privately.

The political prisoner said he could not read the Bible. The prison authorities refuse to give the Bible to Dashkevich in spite of several requests.

The lawyer had a previous meeting with Dashkevich on February 17, Friday, when he was in a punishment cell too. He was punished for his refusal to enter a cell with a the so called downcast, a prisoner of low social status. In accordance with unofficial prison rules, it would have made him a downcast too.
