Riot police squad stormed into “Litvins’ Club”

About 40 participants of the event in “Litvins’ Club” were detained in Minsk.

As one of the participants of the event held in the “Litvins’ Club”, Svyatnana, at 7.45 p.m. riot policemen burst into a private house where meetings of the club were held.

“They broke a kitchen window. They broke everything inside, all the plates, all things were flying! We were lucky that children were not nearby at that moment, as there were people with children at the meeting of the club,” she said. Riot policemen ordered participants of the event to stand and deliver. It was forbidden to use mobile phones and speak. As the riot policemen told, the reason for their attack was a phone call with information drug manufacturing was taking place in the house.

About 40 detainees were taken to the police department in a police bus with the light switched off. Svyatlana noted that riot policemen’s actions were harsh: “There was an elderly person among us, he was taken bad in the house. They called in an ambulance only at the police department, in 40 minutes!”

Personal details of the detainees were written down in the police department several times. Names, birth dates and place of work were asked. At about 10 p.m. participants of “Litvins’ Club” were started to be released in small groups.

“Litvins’ Club” is a cultural community of patriotic youth which exists for more than 5 years already. Its participants gathered in the premises of a church.

“We organize discussion youth meetings, where different tendencies, historical events are discussed. We watch films and plays and do many other things,” the official page of the club in Vkontakte social network reads. Meetings of the club are held every Wednesday.
