One more scandal: OSCE and EU observers will not allowed in Belarus

This idea was proposed by head of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Lidzia Yarmoshyna, who is banned from entering the EU.
The OSCE mission has been using clichés in relation to electoral campaigns in different countries,” Lidzia Yarmoshyna, the head of the Cenral Commission for Elections and National Referendums, said to BelTA commenting on OSCE’s evaluation of the Russian presidential election.
“This time, the evaluation by the OSCE was softer than usual,” Lidzia Yarmoshyna thinks. However, the OSCE continues to use clichés. “For example, they tried the cliché ‘The Central Election Commission lacked collegiality’ in Belarus, and then began to use it in relation to Russia and Kazakhstan. The OSCE meant not all complaints to the CEC were heard at CEC meetings. “But it is physically impossible in any country!” the CEC chair replies.
In her opinion, taking into account all facts, representatives of the EU countries should not be included in the OSCE observation delegation at the Belarusian parliamentary election, because the EU imposes sanctions and visa restrictions on Belarus.
“Why should we allow their representatives to visit our country? Every time at the previous elections, we issued observer mandates to all EU ambassadors in Minsk, though they were not members of the OSCE mission. It was a goodwill gesture. It was me who initiated this step, though I am a veteran of the EU blacklist since 2004! I do not understand why we are supposed to demonstrate these fine gestures, if people do not appreciate them?” the CEC head said.
