Trial over Yury Chyhileichyk postponed

Trial over activist of Platfrom information and education association was postponed until May 17 due to absence of witnesses.

Yury Chyhileichyk is accused of storing and taking drugs. He may face up to five years in prison. Head of Platform association Andrei Bandarenka thinks the case against Yury Chyhilyichyk is politically motivated.

“Yury helped Andrei Sannikov and Zmitser Dashkevich. In principle, a great deal of  Platform's activity relating to raising questions of tortures and beating of prisoners is a merit of Yury. He was warned several times his cooperation with Platform may have a sad end,” Andrei Bandarenka said.

Yury Chyhileichyk admitted his guilt during the trial conducted by judge of the Zavadski district court Zhanna Brysina. Activists of Platform association claim officers of the organized crime department planted drugs on Yury during the search.
