Chernobyl pickets under ban in Hrodna

Activists of the United Civil Party (UCP) from Hrodna, Alyaksandr Vasilevich and Dzmitry Audzeuchyk, have been warned about administrative responsibility for holding pickets on April 26.

Vasilevich and Audzeichyk applied to the Hrodna city executive committee for holding a picket on April 26, an anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. They have not received an answer yet, Radio Svaboda reports.

Nevertheless, police visited both of them at home to warn about responsibility for taking part in an unauthorized picket. The applicants think the local authorities violate the law by sending replies less than five days before the announced date.
