“Novy Chas” newspapers confiscated by police in Byarozauka

Police detained to two local activists of the BPF party and For Freedom movement, Syarhei Trafimchyk and Vitold Ashurok, in the town of Byarozauka (the Lida district) on April 27.

Policemen seized 800 copies of “Novy Chas” newspaper. The activists were guarded to the local police station, where a report on newspaper confiscation was made, Viasna human rights centre informs.

Police officers wanted Trafimchyk and Ashurok to give explanations, but they refused to say anything because firstly, the activists were not accused of committing an offence and secondly, Trafimchyk and Ashurok are official distributors of the registered newspaper.
