Nyaklyaeu: Today Vinahradau can be put in prison again

Today leaders of “Tell the truth” campaign Uladzimir Nyaklyaey and Syarhei Vaznyak held a press-conference on the occasion of launching a country-wide action in support and defence of Pavel Vinahradau.

Vinahradau’s associate Alyaksandr Artsybashau has taken part in the press-conference as well. Throughout this year he has been also sentenced to administrative arrest twice, “Tell the truth” website informs.

We remind that since the beginning of the year the leader of the youth wing of “Tell the truth”, “Zmena”, was held administratively liable four times. He has spent more than 30 days behind the bars in Minsk centre for delinquents’ isolation. Since April 25 he was placed under a preventive supervision by law-enforcement agencies was decide for him.

As Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu noted, there is an impression that the authorities started a focused persecution of Pavel.

“We have information that today at 2.30 p.m. Vinahradau is to be released from Akrestsin Street remand prison, and after that he is to be put to prison again. On criminal, not on administrative charges this time,” the candidate for presidency said.

Syarhei Vaznyak stressed that this campaign’s aim is to attract attention of the public and the world community not only to Vinahradau, but to everyone who is still persecuted by the Belarusian regime for their active citizenship. They include those who are serving the term for the protest rally on the Square -2010, as well as the new political prisoners, including Ihar Simbirau, an activist of “Tell the truth”, sentenced to 10 days’ arrest before Chernobyl Way demonstration.

“Tell the truth” urges all citizens of Belarus to sign an open letter to the Prosecutor General of Belarus, demanding to stop illegal persecution by the bodies of internal affairs, as well as court arbitrariness against the activist of the campaign Pavel Vinahradau.

The first to sign the address were Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, Andrei Dzmitryeu, Alyaksandr Fyaduta, Syarhei Vaznyak, Alyaksandr Arstybashau. Journalists of independent mass media who were taking part in the press-conference, joined them and signed the letter.
