Syarhei Kavalenka put in solitary cell

Syarhei Kavalenka is in a solitary confinement cell in detention facility No. 2.

BelaPAN news agency has learned it from Syarhei's wife Alena Kavalenka.

“Syarhei arrived there on the night of May 7 - May 8. A lawyer has seen him today. My husband does not feel better. It is the fourth transfer for him. It is mockery of a man, who is still weak after a hunger strike. I'll try to meet with him on May 10,” Alena Kavalenka says.

The activist was in the same detention facility during the first two months of his detention. He spent most time in a solitary cell, his wife says. “I worry he was transferred to the place he had been during the first two months of his hunger strike. He had faced provocations there, including filming a video affecting not only Syarhei, but also his children. A complaint was filed to the prosecutor's office in this regard,” Kavalenka said.
