Marek Migalski demands to let civil doctor to examine Kavalenka

The member of the European parliament Marek Migalski has addressed the chief of the Corrections Department, the Prosecutor General of Belarus and the chief physician of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre of Mental Health.

The MEP demands to offer information about the reasons of transferring Syarhei Kavalenka from the guarded department of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre of Mental Health in Navinki, Narodnaya Volya writes.

Migalski asks who and on what grounds had adopted such a decision?

The deputy reminded that Kavalenka had developed serious health problems, and within two months he had been transferred for four times, without an opportunity to restore health.

Marek Migalski urged to provide access to an independent expert doctor for Kavalenka, and provide due medical aid for him, which would include hospitalization if needed, underlining that medical aid is one of the basic rights guaranteed to prisoners by the Human Rights Convention, signed by Belarus.
