Street racer brutally beaten and jailed for 10 days (Video)

Street racer Yauheny Syalitski was detained and beaten by road police officers on June 9.

The video showing the incident appeared on the Internet and the aggrieved person filed a complaint to the Investigation Committee. He said he received blows to his stomach, chest and head. Two police reports for violation of traffic rules were drawn up against him. The name of one of the policemen, who beat the young man, is Syarhei Hurda, Belsat TV reports.

Yauheny Syalitski said this morning he was summoned to police. He was taken to court from a police department.

The Kastrychnitski district court sentenced Yauheny Syalitski to 10 days in custody. The case was heard by judge Natallya Pratasavitskaya notorious for political trials. Syalitski stood trial on two charges. He admitted his guilt in full. There's no information why Syalitski was thrown behind bars. “He knows himself what he did,” a representative of the court said.
