China is studying "the belarusian experience" of human rights violations

11

Belarus and China plan to study mutual experience and establish cooperation in the area of human rights protection.

The statement was made in a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky and Luo Haocai, President of China Society for Human Rights Studies in Minsk on 5 June, BelTA has learnt.

“The theme of human rights is far from being simple. It is well-known that you have done a lot in studying this issue and you have gained valuable experience,” Viktor Guminsky said and stressed that China is a reliable strategic partner of Belarus in every area. Over the recent months Belarus has been visited by a number of Chinese delegations. All the visits were fruitful. A number of important documents were signed to deepen the bilateral cooperation.

In turn, Luo Haocai noted that in China human rights safeguards are enshrined in the Constitution. “Respect for human rights reflects the spirit of the era,” he said. At the same time there is no ideal society in this respect in the world today. Some Western countries use the pretext of protecting human rights to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. “This destroys the spirit and the Charter of the United Nations,” said the President of China Society for Human Rights Studies.

Luo Haocai stressed that the main purpose of his visit to Minsk is to study the experience of Belarus and establish bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights.
