Ideologist retires from plant on strike

An ideologist resigns from the Tractor Parts and Units Plant in Babruisk, where worker went on strike.

The news was received from Pyotr Slabanchuk himself as he was asked to comment on the situation on the plant and workers' strike, Radio Svaboda reports.

“I am sorry, but I cannot give you information, because I do not work there any more. That's all, good bye. Do not bother me with such questions any more,” the deputy director responsible for personnel, social development and ideology said.  

Mikhail Kavalkou, the head of the unit of the Free Trade Union of Belarus, cannot enter the territory of the plant again. He received a new access card yesterday, but the card was blocked today, the activist says. Kavalkou is going to appeal to court, asking officers of court to visit the plant and coerce fulfilling of the court decision of June 8. Under the court decision, the plant administration must unblock the access card and allow the activist to enter the plant.

Two brigades of the tractor assembly shop are on strike on the Tractor Parts and Units Plant. The strike was caused by wages underpayment.
