Physical abuse at Mozyr oil refinery

A supervisor at the Mozyr oil refinery beat an activist of the independent trade union.

Ivan Shaban, a fired mechanic of the 12th workshop of the refinery and member of the independent trade union, applied to a court. Supervisor Aleh Shkurko caused light injuries to him. The injuries were confirmed by a medical examination, Radio Svaboda reports.

The plaintiff asks for administrative punishment for the supervisor.

According to him, he received injuries at work, when he was trying to record ungrounded requirements of the supervisor on the phone.

The Mozyr district court scheduled a hearing of Ivan Shaban's claim for November 11.

We remind that five members of the independent trade union were fired from the refinery some days ago. They are employees of the design and engineering department Henadz Babrounikau and Tatsiana Barovnikava, employees of workshop No. 2 Uladzimir Kliuchnikau, Aliaksei Yermak and Ivan Shaban. They faced disciplinary sanctions on far-fetched grounds. Employment agreements with them were not prolonged.
