Slonim authorities ban Freedom Day

The assembly devoted to Freedom day in Slonim had banned.

Mikalai Shykh, deputy chairman of Slonim district executive committee, has issued a ban on holding a meeting to mark the anniversary of the proclamation of independence of the Belarusian People’s Republic back in 1918.

The meeting was expected to be held on 24 March. However, the official ban received by local pro-democratic activists Ivan Sheha and Viktar Marchyk said «the administration has no opportunities to provide premises at the indicated time».
