Belarusian MFA blackmails Poland

Small border traffic with Poland seems impossible due to the country's “tough anti-Belarusian stance”, the Belarusian MFA says.

The statement was made by Belarusian MFA's spokesman Andrei Savinykh at briefing on Thursday, Interfax news agency reports.

“As for an agreement with Poland, we do not plan to sign it so far. It can be explained by a rather tough anti-Belarusian stance taken by the government of Poland,” he said.

Savinykh added the process of signing the similar agreement with Lithuania wasn't finished.

“We accumulate the experience of implementing the same agreement with Latvia to analyse pitfalls and flaws. The experience will be used to put the agreement with Lithuania in force,” the MFA's representative added.

It should be reminded that some independent Belarusian media – Belsat TV, the website charter97.org and Radio Racyja – work in Warsaw.

Many Belarusian politicians received asylum in Poland and continue to work there.
