Jauhen Vaskovich: I will bear my cross till the end

The political prisoner wrote a letter to his grandmother Tamara Uladzimirauna.

She received the letter on 29 March, Belarusian Christian Democracy’s press-service reports.

In the letter the political prisoner tells that he has started receiving letters not only from close relatives. In particular, he received many letters of support and congratulations on the Freedom Day, for which he thanks everyone a lot. He has also received a parcel from relatives, the fate of which was unknown for a long time.

Jauhen also explained the reason of his refusal from a lawyer. According to him, no lawyer can help him and he considers pointless to spend money on passing the information about his condition, which he can provide in his letters. At the same time Vaskovich noted, that he consciously took his cross and will bear it until the end.

Now the political prisoner is reading Georgiy Zhukov’s memoirs. Having received a letter from the editor of Babrujsk Courier newspaper, he intends to send his articles there. He is in a positive mood. He sincerely congratulates all the Catholics on Easter and is glad about the selection of a new Pope, who, in his opinion, will be able to raise the church to new heights.

We would remind that Jauhen Vaskovich was condemned together with Arciom Prakapenka and Pavel Syramalotau. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison for alleged attempted arson of the door of Babrujsk KGB department. In September last year Pavel Syramalotau was released after having written a plea for pardon to Lukashenka. Jauhen Vaskovich and Arciom Prakapenka refuse to write such a plea.
