No letters from political prisoner Vaskovich for second month

Political prisoner Yauheny Vaskovich remains isolated for the second month in prison No. 4 in Mahilou.

Charter97.org has learnt it from Tamara Vaskovich, the grandmother of Yauheny Vaskovich, a jailed activist of the organising committee to found the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD).

“The latest letter from him was delivered on March 29. He wrote he had begun to receive letters from more people, not only from close relatives. He also received a parcel from his family they had sent long ago,” the political prisoner's grandmother said.

She stresses she has not had any news from Vaskovich since then.

“I have been waiting for his letters for the second month. As far as I know, other relatives have not received letters too. I don't know what happened. Maybe he was isolated, punished for something,” Tamara Vaskovich thinks.
