Belavia to suspend flights to Egypt in September

Belavia will suspend its flights to Egypt in September because of the tense social and political situation in that country.

The airline will be flying its planes to Egypt until the end of August primarily to bring home those Belarusian citizens who are staying in the North African country at the moment, the press office said.

Belavia currently operates charter flights to the cities of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh at the request of a large travel agency, according to the press office.

Last week the Belarusian Ministry of Sports and Tourism recommended that travel agencies should suspend tours to Egypt until the Egyptian government lifts a state of emergency, and that tourists who cancel their trips to Egypt should receive full refunds.
