Registration denied to communists

The Ministry of Justice denied registration to the Belarusian Communist Party of Workers.

“The list of founders, submitted for registration, had the information about 1148 people. However, in the course of the examination of founders meetings’ protocols, where delegates for the constituent assembly were selected, it was established that 935 people took part in the meetings, which is less than the 1000, necessary for creating a political party in accordance with the article 10 of the law “On political parties”, - the Ministry’s letter says.

Violations in the nomination of delegates for the constituent assembly were also discovered.

“This tells that the order of founding a political party was violated, which is the reason for not registering the BCPW according to the article 17 of the law “On political parties”. The founders may appeal against the decision to the Supreme Court”, - the letter highlights.
