Ukrainian general: Everyone expects Russian troops’ penetration from Donbas to Crimea (Video)

At the moment the most important question for analysts is what excuse would be used to break the truce and launching the war for Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Such a statement has been made by the chairman of “Officer Corps” organisation, Colonel General Volodymir Ruban, Hromadske TV reports.

“We know that the most of the rhetoric now is not aimed at setting up the buffer zone in accordance to Minsk agreements, but at establishing administrative borders on the part of the “DNR” leaders. Accordingly, the Ukrainian side is preparing certain appropriate measures as well. Today we know about three safety layers, three borders (the third one has not been finished yet), and there are 15-20 kilometres between the first and the second ones. There everyone expects a penetration attack which is to guarantee an overland route from Russia to Crimea. It’s not a secret. And the Kerch Strait, it would not freeze certainly, but it would not be ferried over. Providing supplies for the annexed territories is one of the first tasks for Russia. It’s impossible to bring foodstuffs by planes there,” he noted, commenting on possible variants of the situation’s outcome.

Ruban sees two possible variants of development. The first one is the solution by force, which is a blind-alley variant for Crimea unless the Ukrainian side wins.

The second one is a negotiations process, as deliveries to Crimea could be carried out through the territory of Ukraine until Ukraine invents a way to bring it back as a part of its territory.
