European journalists repeat photo session of Vitebsk residents

Journalists of Brussels expressed their solidarity and repeated a photo session of their Vitebsk colleagues who are going to stand trial.
Charter97.org learnt it from the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ).
On November 26, a group of members of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) were photographed holding paper cages and birds and a placard “Is this crime?” They supported their colleagues from Vitebsk who organised a photo session on Stand Up for Journalism Day.
It was made “to show the ridiculousness of the police charges”, the EFJ says in a press release. The EFJ and the BAJ wrote an open letter to the Vitebsk authorities, asking to drop charges from the journalists.
