Lukashenka: We have 400,000 of do-littles in Belarus. It requires decisive actions

The dictator came back from vacations and claims everyone to work.

Lukashenka cries for decisive actions in order to make “do-littles” work. Earlier this day he said it during his meeting with OOO Protos workers in Mahileu region, BelTA says.

“You’ve already heard controversy opinions on my requirement: to make everybody, who can, work. There won’t be do-littles, he said. So it happens that one who doesn’t work, evades taxes may live in better conditions than you do. At the same time he can use education and healthcare services for free or at a token value”.

Lukashenka affirmed his claim to make “do-littles” work. “Today we have 400, 000 of them”, he says. But this does not concern those working in Russia.

“It may sound like Lukashenka makes everybody working in Russia come back. That isn’t true. Earn money there and pay taxes here – that is the right way. I’m telling about those not working at all, neither in Belarus nor in other countries”, he mentioned. “And when they are 60 they will ask for the pensions. What pensions? Some part of yours and mine, of course. - That is why I stand for decisive measures to be taken for those not working at all”.

Everybody must work and do well for a family and the state, Lukashenka highlighted. “The state’s responsibility is to take care of children, to provide people with education and healthcare services, to protect and so on. So, it also requires money”, he continues.

“In case you say that it requires no money, we can make a few steps towards what is going on in Ukraine”, he added. All in all, Aliaksandr Lukashenka pointed out one more time that essential measures will be taken.

Minsk City Executive Committee announced that it was planning to lobby legislative amendments to make some categories of “do-littles” work. It concerns debtors “do-littles”, first of all. Police also takes measures to resolve problems with those unemployed.

For a month already state officials have been thinking about how to “beat out” money from dependants in more sophisticated ways. The number of dependants is about 140, 000 people. It is proposed to imprison them, deprive the access to free medicine and education, impose a 1000 $ tax per year. These innovations will affect all adult Belarusians who do not refill a public treasury for six months.
