Travel banned Belarusians will not be able to go abroad through Russia

Minsk and Moscow are to sign an agreement about exchange of information about citizens of the “union state” restricted to travel abroad.

Such a statement has been made by the head of the citizenship and migration department of the Interior Affairs Ministry of Belarus Alyaksei Byahun (Begun), Interfax reports.

“A number of intergovernmental agreements between Belarus and Russia in the sphere of migration are in a high degree of readiness. In particular, it is an agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on the procedure of exchange of information about citizens of the two states, who are restricted to travel abroad,” Alyaksei Byahun said, addressing the expert and media seminar “Forming a single migration space of the Union State: Problems and Prospects” in Minsk on Wednesday.

“The intergovernmental agreement concerning the mutual recognition of execution of the decisions related to denied entry to the territory of the “union state” to citizens of third countries, who cannot enter its territory for a number of reasons”, is at the final stage as well.

As said by Byahun, the intergovernmental agreement is passing the internal state procedures of approval, the existing documents of Belarus and Russia, regulating equal rights of citizens for freedom of travel, choice of a place of residence on the territory of member states of the “union state”, are being amended.

“The program of creation of the single migration space of Belarus and Russia for the years 2014-2016 has been brought to the agenda of the session of another Council of Ministers of the “union state”, he said.
