Cheaper Belarus visas for U.S., UK citizens

Travelling to Belarus will become cheaper for citizens of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told it BelTA.

“Belarus has decided to reduce consular fees paid by citizens of the United States and the United Kingdom. The U.S. and UK nationals will pay as much as the citizens of the majority of other countries. The move is part of Belarus' visa liberalization policy launched in January 2015. Apart from reducing consular fees, Belarus has considerably eased the requirements for getting student visas and business visas,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

He added that business and humanitarian visas can be obtained through a simplified procedure for up to three years. Besides, the U.S. and UK visa applicants under 14 will be exempt from the consular fee. “Our country is consistently liberalizing its visa policy. This pertains, first of all, to the countries that pose no migration risks,” he explained.

Dmitry Mironchik noted that Belarus strives to establish business, humanitarian, cultural and academic contacts with other countries.
