Penalty up to 50 basic units for renting subsidized housing

Penalties for renting subsidized housing will come into force in February; fine for it shall result in from 4 to 50 basic units.

Penalties for violation of procedure of renting dwellings, built, renovated or acquired with the assistance of a preferential credit are introduced in Belarus, Interfax reports.

Appropriate amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences introduced by the Law of the Republic of Belarus from January 10, 2015 No. 243-3, and released on the National Legal Internet portal on Thursday.

The Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus is amended by article 23.86, whereby the provision of a dwelling (part of it), built up (reconstructed) or purchased through a preferential credit, under contract of renting living accommodation of private housing stock or under contract of residential lease agreement unless the loan maturity term without the approval of a relevant executive and administrative body of the regional level, when such approval is required, shall result in a fine from 4 to 30 basic units (from January 1, 2015 basic unit equals Br180 000).

Further violation within one year shall result in a fine from 30 to 50 basic units.

The Law N243-З of the Republic of Belarus comes into force in a month after its official publication.

Earlier it was reported Lukashenka's order issued in September 2012 was the impetus for development of measures affecting apartment owners renting housing built with a state aid. After the report of the Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich on facts of illegal use of State support for housing construction, the head of State demanded to deal with housing queues and has subsidized housing sphere checked.
