Political prisoner Rubtsou cannot find a job

Yury Rubtsou, currently serving his term in an open type institution No. 7 in the village Kuplin, Pruzhany district, is waiting for him to find a job.

The staff of the Commandant's Office must provide him with it. But it has taken a long time, possibly because it is difficult to find a job for him with the average salary at $600 in Pruzhany, "Radio Racyja" reports.

"They asked: "What kind of salary do you want?" As stated in the Constitution, anyway, not less than the average salary in the country that equals to $600. They replied: "We do not earn $600." I say: "I'm sorry, but Lukashenka said that everybody earned $600. Whom am I to believe: you or Lukashenka?" They have nothing to say as they won't say Lukashenka is a liar", Yury Rubtsou said.

It should be reminded that on October 6, 2014 the judge of the Central District Court in Minsk Natallia Vaitsekhovich announced the sentence - two and a half years of imprisonment in an open type institution. He got the amnesty, mitigated term of punishment on one year. Human rights activists noticed that the trial was held with numerous violations, and his political activity was the real reason for the prosecution. After bringing up the sentence, Viasna Human Rights Center recognized Yury Rubtsou as a political prisoner.
