Dinamo Minsk edge Slovan in shootout

Andrei Stepanov scored the shootout winner and Lars Haugen stopped 45 shots in total to lead Dinamo Minsk to a 3-2 win over Slovan Bratislava in the KHL home action on 8 January.

Charles Linglet and Ryan Vesce scored the powerplay goals for the Bisons in regulation, both times putting the Belarusian team in front.

Ladislav Nagy and Ziga Jeglic scored for Slovan to eliminate Dinamo's advantage and take the game into overtime.

With 76 points Dinamo Minsk go 5th in the West. The Western Conference is topped by CSKA Moscow with 103 points. The Moscow team is followed by SKA St. Petersburg with 90 points, Jokerit Helsinki (89 points) and Dynamo Moscow (85 points).

Dinamo Minsk are back in action on 10 January as they visit HC Sochi.

The top four in the East include Ak Bars Kazan (93 points), Metallurg Magnitogorsk (84 points), Avangard Omsk (83 points), and Sibir Novosibirsk (80 points).
