Net Losses Of Enterprises In Belarus Quadrupled

The amount of net loss of economic entities in Belarus for January – August 2015 was equal to Br 34.7 trillion.

It is 4.2 times as many as in January – August 2014, BelaPAN informs with a reference to the press-service of the National Statistics Committee.

“The final financial result has deteriorated due devaluation of the Belarusian ruble in August 2015,” the Belstat (the National Statistics Committee) said.

Over the 8 months of the present year 1,707 economic entities, or 21.6% of the total number of the currently registered economic entities, were loss-making (as compared to 1,131, or 14.3% in January – August 2014).

The share of loss-making economic entities was: in agriculture, hunting and forest sector – 14% (7.1% in January – August 2014), including 14.8% (7.3%) in agriculture; in fishing and fisheries sector there were — 45% (70%), in industry — 35.5% (26%), 21.2% (8.8%) in the construction sector, 26.7% (15.9%) in trade, 26.7% (22.7%) in hotels and restaurants, 16.5% (13.5%) in the transport sector, 4.4% (4.4%) in the communication sector, 0% (14.3%) in the financial sector, 10.3% (8.8%) in the real estate, renting and services sector, 10.7% (8%) in education, 10.5% (6.3%) in the healthcare and social services sector, 9.5% (11.7%) in the utilities sector.

Vitsebk region had the largest number of loss-making companies (27.7%), the smallest number was in Homel region (11.5%). Brest and Homel regions had 21.73% of unprofitable companies, 23.4% in Minsk region, 15.9% in Mahilou region, 25.9% in Minsk.

Return on sales in January-July 2015 was 8.3%, having grown by 0.7% since January-July 2014. Return on sales was 8.2% in January-June 2015 and 8.5% in July.
