Warsaw Student: The Belarusians Must Act

Abolition of paid trainings will depend on the number of participants in the march of students.

The action initiated by BSU students - March of Love and Solidarity - will be held today. Abolition of paid trainings is one of requirements. Guest of Belsat Siarhei Kaleeu from Lazarski University in Warsaw believes that students must fight for their rights. Here are some quotes:

- Abolition of paid trainings will depend on the number of participants in the march of students. The Belarusians must take a stand.

- Polish teachers give their telephone number and e-mail at the first class.

- If students do not fight for quality of education, teachers will not care as well.

- Once Lazarski University decided to introduce paid trainings. Students, including Belarusian ones, united and expressed their discontent. The administration had to take concessions and repeal them. There is a positive example. You should remember that it happened in Poland.

It should be reminded that odds between students and the administration of the BSU rose after new plans on fee introduction for examinations and credits. Students are resented with it. They collected 2500 signatures against it and launched protest groups on social networks. They intend to apply to the Prosecutor's Office.

Despite protests, on November 12 the rector of BSU signed a provision.

In response activists planned to hold a march on December 2 in Minsk. It is expected that 300-500 people will join him. On October 26 the event page launched an invitation to the action.
