Brest Sole Traders Don’t Work Since January 1

Brest dwellers state that since January 1 they won’t show up for work.

A month is left until the compulsory certification of goods for Belarusian businessmen selling consumer goods at market places is to come into force, Radio Racyja informs.

It’s an impossible task to bring certificates from Russian suppliers, as such documents do not exist, sole traders say:

– We won’t be able to work according to these conditions we are offered. Where should we take goods from? We are offered Belarusian goods, which could be found in all shops, and nobody needs them.

– We won’t be able to work since January 1, as we do not know what we should expect. Many goods are left, so should people simply present them to the state?

Brest sole traders do not plan protest rallies on January 1 yet. They note that they are going to be registered in the employment centre together, and wait for the situation to change.
