Russian missile troops have large-scale exercises

Wide-range military exercises of the strategic missile troops started in 12 Russian regions from Tver to Irkutsk Oblasts.

It became known from RIA Novosti with a link to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

More than 30 missile battalions take part in the manoeuvres. Both mobile and stationary SMF groups are involved in the drills, the ministry reports.

The exercises will test the troops' “combat readiness, drill maneuver operations on patrol routes, actions to counter subversive and terrorist acts, as well as high-precision strikes”, Interfax news agency cites representative of the Ministry of Defence Igor Yegorov.

He added that drones were involved in the drills to determine patrol routes, detect subversive groups and perform engineering and chemical reconnaissance. In particular, UAVs, transferring live videos within a radius of 10 kilometres, detected the manoeuvre enemy's reconnaissance groups as they were mining roads.
