Lukashenka goes skiing to Sochi

The Belarusian dictator is exhausted by work.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has got out for rest again. This time he decided to go skiing in Krasnaya Polyana near Sochi.

It should be noted that not long ago he already had a holiday with his sons and entourage. In November in the United Arab Emirates Lukashenka was bathing in the ocean for almost two weeks, and playing hockey with local amateurs. Notably, the next holiday is taking place amid the financial and economic crisis shattering the country, Radio Svaboda informs.

The first Lukashenka’s holiday in the new year is traditionally spent in Sochi. He goes there soon after the difficult 7-hours’ conversation with journalists. In the run-up to the winter Olympic games – 2014 the Belarusian resorts and recreation facilities rented there were considerably reconstructed, and have become even more comfortable.

The presidential press-service refused to give details of Lukashenka’s holiday in Sochi, that is why it is unknown whether he had gone there with his inner circle or accompanied by some of his sons. The receptionist of “Krasnaya Polyana” multi-function complex also refers to “a conversation which could not be conducted over the phone” and “privacy”.

Back in 2010 the State Duma of Russia ratified an agreement according to which the Department of Presidential Affairs was offered for rent for 49 years the “Belarus” health resort in Sochi and “Belaya Rus” in Tuapse, as well as more than 16 ha of land in Krasnaya Polyana recreation centre.
