Police look for film director Anton Tsialezhnikau

His brother received a summons to appear at a police station as a witness. He doesn't know details of the case.

He was questioned in Barysau. Police officers asked him about the whereabouts, job and contacts of Anton Tsialezhnikau. The policeman, who questioned the film director's brother, said he didn't know anything about the case and added the order for the questioning came “from above”, Belsat TV reports.

“I am surprised to see such interest to me, especially from police officers, who apparently received an order from higher instances, probably the KGB. I am a creative person. I am not engaged in political activity. My task is to tell people the truth about our national history and events in and around Belarus through films, which apparently doesn't fit the ideology of the authorities. I regard this unusual interest to me as an attempt of pressure on me and my relatives, whom the police disturb by summonses,” Anton Tsialezhnikau comments on the incident.

Anton Tsialezhnikau spent almost two months in the anti-terrorist operation zone in Ukraine, where he was making a documentary about a Belarusian fighting on the side of the Ukrainians and a news story about the Right Sector's voluntary battalion.
