Lithuanians waiting for buyers from Belarus

Even more Belarusians will go shopping in Lithuania due to fighting import in Belarus.

The Belarusian Government is preparing a number of measures, which should dramatically reduce the flow of imported goods on the country's market. First of all, it touches cars, clothes, and shoes, TV sets, and refrigerators. Lithuanian business sees no great threat, it has a little export of these goods to Belarus.

"It is not something new, Belarusian government reminds one more time that it does not change it line and will continue modernization and replacement of imported goods on domestic ones", Vidmantas Verbickas, Lithuanian attaché on Commerce in Belarus, noted.

According to the head of the Vilnius Panorama Mall Birute Kalanovajte, due to import restrictions in Belarus Lithuania may host more Belarusians. "Variety reduction always attracts people to come here, moreover, for them Vilnius is a Western culture", Kalanovajte said.
