Cabbage and carrots increased in price the most in Belarus

Food prices in Belarus increased 5.4% in April 2015 compared to December 2014.
It is reported in a press release of the National Statistical Committee, Interfax informs.
Food prices grew 0.7% in April 2015 in comparison to March.
Food prices increased 17% in January-April 2015 compared to the same period of 2014.
The cost of the minimum food basket fell by 0.03% in April 2015 compared to March, increased by 8.6% compared to December and increased by 15.7% compared to April 2014.
The Statistical Committee reports that the leaders in price growth since the beginning of the year are cabbage (86.2%), carrots (45.4%), tomatoes (45.3%), apples (41.1%), frozen fish (28.2%), salt herring (25.5%), oil (24.2) and potatoes (20.2%).
Prices of pork (except for boneless meat) decreased by 14.5% since the beginning of the year, fresh cucumbers and beef – by 4.9%, chicken – by 1.6%, butter – by 0.4%, kefir and eggs – by 0.1%.
