NATO air policing aircraft scrambled to intercept 12 Russian military planes near Latvia today.
The National Armed Forces of Latvia report it on Twitter.
“Air Policing jets on 29 JUL in international airspace above the Baltic Sea near LV border identified RU AF 3xAn-26, Il-76, 4xMiG-31, 4xSu-24,” they wrote on Twitter.

Russian military ships and aircraft have begun to appear near the Baltic States more often since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict and the aggravation of relations between Russia and the West.
They do not violate air and sea borders, but aircraft may pose a threat to civil aviation.
