Pure losses of Belarusian companies increased twofold

The amount of pure losses of Belarusian companies for a period from January to July 2015 was 15 trillion rubles.

This is two times as much as in January-July 2014, BelaPAN quotes the press service of the National Statistical Committee.

As many as 1,589 companies, which is 20.1% of the total number of reportable companies, were found loss-making for the first seven months of 2015 against 1,139 companies (14.4%) in January-July 2014.

The share of loss-making companies was: 13.8% in agriculture, the hunting and forest sector (7% in January-July 2014), including 14.6% (7.1%) in agriculture, 40% (70%) in the fishing sector, 31.1% (26.2%) in industry, 20.8% (8.7%) in the construction sector, 22.7% (4.4%) in trade, 24.4% (21.5%) in hotels and restaurants, 18.5% (13.6%) in transport, 2.2% (4.4%) in the communication sector, 0% (28.6%) in the financial sector, 10.5% (9%) in the real estate, renting and services sector, 12.2% (4.1%) in education, 9.5% (5.3%) in the healthcare and social services sector, 9.8% (11.1%) in the utility sector.

The Vitsebk region has the largest number of loss-making companies (27.6%). The Homel region has the smallest number of loss-making companies (10.4). The Brest region has 20.3% of unprofitable companies, the Hrodna region – 19.9%, the Minsk region – 21.5%, the Mahilou region – 14.8%, Minsk – 23.3%.

Return on sales in January-July 2015 was 8.2%, having grown by 0.7% since January-July 2014. Return on sales was 8.2% in January-June 2015 and 8.5% in July.
