Ryzhankou: “We haven’t yet agreed to European Games”

First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee Maksim Ryzhankou said that Belarus hasn’t yet signed the contract on holding European games.

– There is no any contract on holding the Games yet. In fact, we, for example, can categorically say to EOC, that we will hold Games for only 10 sports, which are less costly, with a thousand of participating athletes in total. We haven’t yet signed anything.

It is within our power and within the power of EOC to make sure that we were able to afford these competitions. And to afford them the way that would not let anyone say afterwards, that the Games have pushed the Belarusian economy to the brink of disaster and that people have not received their salaries. We must make sure that our country feels comfortable and that we together with EOC can deal with the tasks for which the Games were created, – Ryzhankou said in an interview with BT TV-channel.
