Oppositionist From Mahiliou: Thank “Wellwishers” For Advertising!

In Mahiliou, unknown persons distributed the leaflets about the opposition activists living in the neighborhood, after which the number of viewers at the local independent website grew by six times.

The neighbours of Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (“Assembly”), editor of the newspaper “Our Mahiliou” Ihar Barysau received the leaflets, urging to be on the alert as there were opposition activists living in the house.

This was a demeanor totally in style of the year 1937, but the residents of the house had a totally different reaction than the unknown authors of the leaflets thought they would.

“It appears they advertised our party website, as well as the website of the newspaper “Our Mahiliou”. Because, I checked the number of views yesterday – there was a six-times lap over the usual. So, I would like to thank them very much for the advertisement. Like they say, one plans one thing and gets another,” - the activist has told to Radio Racyja.

According to Ihar Barysau, the authors of the leaflets are probably employees of local municipal services, who decided to put pressure on his family.

Ihar's wife Alena Barysava heads the house owners association and pays a lot of attention to the state of the house service.
