Official Convicted For Sausage Theft Appointed To Head Collective Farm

A former director of Babruisk meat-processing plant Viktar Khadasevich has been appointed acting head of Lipauka collective farm in Khotsimsk district.

In 2015 Viktar Khadasevich was sentenced to 2 years of deprivation of freedom and a fine of Br18 million for an attempted theft by abuse of official position, Radio Svaboda informs. The court found that in December 2014 at the order of Viktar Khadasevich, director, his subordinates tried to withdraw sausages and other meat products from the warehouse for a sum of almost Br2 million.

At the moment of the crime Khadasevich worked as director of the meat processing plant for just a month and a half, and previously he had been a chief technology officer there. By the way, the Investigative Committee is conducting a criminal case against the predecessor of Viktar Khadasevich in the position of Babruisk meat processing plant as well. He is suspected of inflicting a damage of Br33 billion rubles to the plant.

Viktar Khadasevich from Babruisk has become the fourth in the list of former officials-corruptionists, who had been amnestied and released in the end of January, and immediately appointed to leading positions in problem-plagued economic entities and enterprises. Thus, after release from Vitsebsk penal colony the former deputy prosecutor general Aliaksandr Arkhipau was appointed to manage the collective farm Piatrovichi, Smaliavichy district. The former director of Mogilevdrev Andrei Usau, convicted for corruption, was appointed an acting executive director of Strommashina plant in Mahilyou. The former deputy head of Baranavichy city executive committee Ihar Statevich, tried for abuse of power and bribery, was also released and appointed to run Baranavichy work-from-home group of enterprises.
