Economy’s Flagships Have Drowned

The most outstandingly loss-making enterprises of Belarus are the Belarusian metallurgic plant (BMZ), MAZ and Minsk Tractor Plant.

As of the end of the year 2015 the highest net profit (Br11.26 trillion) had been received by Belaruskali. As the report on the results of work of open joint-stock companies in the last year reads, published by the Finance Ministry of Belarus on May 23, the profit of Belaruskali has grown by Br2.6 trillion, and it has managed to maintain the first position in the list of the Belarusian top-performing open joint-stock companies.

The top ten also includes Gazprom Transgaz Belarus (Br4.9 trillion), Mozryr oil refinery (Br3.5 trillion), the Bank of Development of the Republic of Belarus (Br1.77 trillion), Homeltransneft Druzhba (Br665 billion), Peleng (Br569 billion), the 558th aircraft repair plant (Br406 billion), Pinsk Center Grain Production (Br398 billion), Hrodna tobacco factory Neman (Br385 billion), agricultural group of enterprises Dzerzhynski (Br372 billion).

The enterprises that left the top ten most lucrative businesses are Naftan, Savushkin Produkt, MAPID, Promagrolizing and Minsk Plant of Wheeled Tractors.

According to the results of the last year, in the end of the list of unprofitable enterprises are OAO BMZ – the asset management company of BMK holding: the net loss of BMZ in 2015 was more than Br2.6 trillion, it has increased fourfold over the year.

It should be noted that at year-end 2014 BMZ took the third position in net loss, and Minsk Automobile Plant was the worst.

The top ten most unprofitable enterprises in 2015 also included Gomselmash (Br1.9 trillion), Svetlahorsk cardboard mill (Br983 billion), MAZ — the management company of BelavtoMAZ holding (Br971 billion), Minsk Tractor Plant (Br882 billion), Homel Plant of Casting and Normals (Br562 billion), Krichevtsementoshifer (Br488 billion), Gomelsteklo (Br472 billion), Barysau Meat Processing Plant (Br466 billion), Belarusian cement plant (Br330 billion), BelaPAN reports.
