Minimal Salary Raised by $ 2

The minimum salary for July in Belarus will be indexed by 5.4%.

In Belarus, the amount of the minimum monthly salary for July 2016 will be indexed as the one for June - by 5.4%. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection explained that this is because the consumer price index for July had not exceeded the 5% threshold by the month of its previous indexing (June), Telegraf.by writes.

From January 1st of the current year the government has established the minimum wage amount of 2 300 000 Belarusian rubles. Taking into account the indexation by 5.4% that was performed in July its size will now be 239 rubles 18 kopecks.

Unemployment benefits and scholarships during the period of professional training, retraining and advanced training are also indexed by 5.4%. Monetary incomes received from budgetary sources, salaries of government employees and persons equated to them, money allowances of servicemen, soldiers and commanding staff, soldiers of urgent military service, cadets, students of military units and cadets of military schools are not indexed.
