People Shut Off The Street To Make Authorities Pave The Road

Only the road Lukashenka was riding along is repaired.

Asked for the better, got the worst. There are only broken stones instead of leaky asphalt on the Mira Street. Mira Street did not accept the repair and took a protest action, Belsat informs.

"We've shut off the road to make them repair the road properly!" one of the residents says.

The leader of Yelsk city executive committee failed to specify terms when the road will be repaired.

"The asphalt was broken on Saturday."

"Then they said that we should run along this road."

"We were told that there would be no asphalt, only broken stones. Allergic children breathe this dust," the locals complain.

No Roads, But Radiation

The Yelsk district is the one which suffered the most from the explosion at the Chernobyl NPP. By the way, the ruler visited it on the Anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster to say that their living conditions would be improved. Only the road Lukashenka was riding along is repaired.

"There is a need to create such conditions in the countryside and towns, which could promote the desire to return there, but not to leave for some large and crowded cities. And we will do it", Lukashenka promised.

Local authorities, allegedly, understood it in their own way: they have ruined the road to make an escape impossible. And now residents of the Mira Street try to see bright future behind the clouds of dust. Their desires have become more modest:

"Let them pave the road with old asphalt," a woman summed up.
