The movie “Motherland” tells about violence in the army.

The documentary film “Motherland” by Aliaksandr Mikhalkovich and Hanna Badziaka was shortlisted for the European Film Academy Award in the “European Documentary Cinema” section, Euroradio reports.

The movie tells the story of a mother whose son was found dead while serving in the army. The authors of the film ask to analyze the problem of violence in the army and society, and explore social norms. Earlier, “Motherland” was already awarded the main prize in the international documentary section at the 15th NNW Film Festival in Gdynia. And at the International Festival of Documentary and Short Films in Kraków, the film received the prize of audience sympathy.

The European Film Academy Award was established in 1988 and is the main cinematographic award of the United Europe.
