'Medininkai - Kamenny Loh' Border Crossing Shut Down

Due to an incident with migrants.

Readers of "Zerkalo" report that today, on May 16, around noon, the Medininkai border crossing on the border between Lithuania and Belarus stopped working for a while. According to the sources, the crossing was closed by Lithuanian border guards after an incident involving migrants.

Judging by the photos, "obtained by journalists, a group of migrants tried to cross the border at the Medininkai checkpoint (Kamenny Loh from the Belarusian side), but was stopped by officers of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania (which includes the Border Guard Service) told the journalists that they don't know anything about the incident yet. An employee of the press service asked to send a written enquiry to the ministry.

According to the journalists, the checkpoint did not work for about three hours. It was reopened at about 14.00.
