Gas price hasn’t been settles

Vice prime minister of Belarus Ivan Bambiza states that talks with Gazprom on gas price in the year 2008 continue.

“The government has a position in talks; talks are going on,” Ivan Bambiza stated in the “parliament” of Belarus, answering the questions of “deputies” about a possible price for gas for Belarus since the second quarter of the year 2008.

Ivan Bambiza refused to comment on the possibility to keep the price for gas of the 1st quarter throughout the year 2008.

As reported by Gazprom on December 14, gas price for Belarus in the first quarter of the year 2008 will make USD 119 per 1,000 cubic metres, as compared to USD100 per 1,000 cubic metres in 2007. According to the 4-year contract gas deliveries to Belarus signed in December 2006, in 2008 price for gas in Belarus will make 67% of average European price.

In 2008 Russia will deliver 21.6 billion cubic metres of gas to Belarus, while in 2007 it delieverd 21.1 billion cubic metres.
