Authorities forced “Autoradio” abandon campaigning for Sannikov (Audio)

Despite the payment for the campaign materials from the election fund, the radio station refused to broadcast them.

The web site charter97.org learned about this from the head of the election headquarters of Andrei Sannikov Uladzimir Kobets.

“Autoradio” was the only radio station, which agreed to air the campaign materials of a presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov. All other Belarusian radio stations, despite the fact that buying additional airtime at the expense fund of the candidate is provided by the electoral law, refused to place promo materials of the opposition presidential candidates.

After that, “Autoradio” had come under pressure from the authorities. Campaign materials of Sannikov had been aired within two days, but today from 11 a.m. the radio station was forced to stop broadcasting them.

“It is “liberalization”. Authority violates its own laws, hindering the implementation of the lawful rights of voters to receive information. However, we are grateful to “Autoradio”. This is the only radio station that has shown courage, observing the current law. Authorities fear for the candidate Sannikov and prevent the broadcast of any information about him. It is obvious that the elections will not be free, and we need to assert our rights at the Square”, - Uladzimir Kobets said.
