Lukashenka has forgotten his prime minister’s name

68

During his speech at the meeting of “people’s representatives” the Belarusian dictator committed a gaffe: he suddenly forgot the name of his prime minister.

Such a remarkable incident in the run up to the presidential election, which shows that a person with problems with his health runs for presidency, could have passed unnoticed by the society, if it were not for Svyatlana Kalinkina, who mentioned that in her blog.

“People who remember Brezhnev’s epoch, remembers anecdotes about forgetfulness of the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Today four thousand of delegates, including those who saw the TV and radio broadcast from the All-Belarusian People’s Congress, witnessed the following scene. Lukashenka looked at Sidorski and could not recall the name of the prime minister. It obviously happened before, as someone from the presidium of the meeting prompted the name “Syarhei Syarheevich…” “I have forgotten the patronymic of the prime minister, it’s all because this election campaign,” Lukashenka checked himself.

It is possible that in case of further usurping of power by Lukashenka, Belarusians can expect “funny” times and return to the history of the Soviet Union of the end of the 1970ies – beginning of the 1980ies. But a question suggests itself: who will rule the country in reality?

In a recent interview to Figaro (France) Lukashenka stated that he has no complaints about his health, and he would be able to rule one more term. But only his know the truth about his real state of health, and probably his key associate Sheiman.

So Belarusians should be grateful to the former Chairman of the Supreme Soviet Stanislau Shushkevich, who had withdrawn the nuclear arms from the country. Now we do not have to worry in whose hands “the nuclear briefcase” is.
